Bad Blogger

I think I am the worst blogger ever. . . . I love to read everybody else's blogs, but I guess I'm too lazy to write my own posts.  I am going to try to do better!  We'll see.

Maybe tomorrow I will have pics. . .

STRESSED Beyond Belief!

This week, we have sold our current house and are in the process of buying another house.  Jeff had already bought this house when we got married, so this is my first rodeo with house buying.  The understatement of the year would be that I am stressed!

I told Jeff that if the house that we are interested in works out, we were going to live in it forever because I don't ever want to have to go through this again!

Because I'm too lazy to go get my card out of my camera, I had to make do with pictures that were already on Jeff's lap top.

Instead of house buying and selling, I would much rather be doing the following.  I think just typing these things is helping to relieve stress!

A fabulous day at the lake. . . . .

Or, a great day at the beach!!!! Either one would be better than the stressful spring break I've had!
But, as Jeff told me earlier, "It will all work out in the end!"  Lord, I hope so!

Party Time

This past weekend, we helped host a party for Jeff's brother, Heath and his fiance' Erin, who are getting married on March 20.

It was a Louisiana theme, so we served gumbo and boiled shrimp and lots of other goodies to snack on with bread pudding for desert.  I do think the food was a hit!

Here are the happy bride and groom. . . I'm not really sure why Heath has that look on his face.  I think he was talking as I snapped the picture.

Erin and Ryan, her nephew.  Erin's sister Ashley was in New Orleans running a marathon (Go Ashley!), so her dad and step-mom were baby-sitting and brought Ryan to the party for a little while.  This was about the time they were getting ready to leave because it was his bedtime.  He sure does love his E!

Ivy and Amber before the party. . . We were still setting everything up. . . The party was at Ivy and Cory's new house in Benton.  They have a fabulous place to entertain!  It was sure nice of them to have the party at their house.

Jeff and Heath with their Mom.

Cory always has to give a speech and that night was no exception!

The bride watching all the festivities.

You notice that there are no pictures of me on this post.  That is because my wonderful dear son poked his finger in my eye which in turn scratched my cornea.  So  I was in severe pain on Friday, and couldn't wear any makeup at all, which those of you who know me know I NEVER go without makeup.

By Saturday, my eye was better, but light still bothered it and I still couldn't wear any makeup, so I had to go to the party without any makeup.  After all of the guests had arrived, a friend of Jeff's who we don't see very often walked up to me and proceeded to introduce himself.  He was like "Hi, I'm _____."  I was a little confused, but I said "Hi, I'm Julie Ramsey."  And he was like "OMG, I didn't even recognize you."

So, I walked up to Jeff and asked him if I really looked that terrible because Josh didn't even recognize me.  I guess the fact that I had on no makeup, glasses, and have gotten braces again since he had seen me did make me look different!  But, I didn't think it was that drastic.

Oh well, my eye is better now, and I can wear makeup again! I guess I've worn it for so long, I'm unrecognizable without it!

No RSV, No RSV, Please, No RSV

Well, Aubrey has been sick since last weekend, but when we went to the doctor Wednesday, Dr. Parker thought it was just a cold.  On Friday, I wanted to go by Re-Runs (the local consignment shop) to sell what they had left.  So, I called Laura to see how Aubrey was before I went.  She suggested that I take him to the doctor right then.

So, we loaded up and headed back to the doctor.  His breathing is shallow and his blood oxygen level had dropped since Wednesday.   Because Aubrey was in the hospital last year with RSV for 8 days, Dr. Parker doesn't really play around.  They tested him, but of course the test won't be back until Monday so we still don't really know.

As of now, he is worse than on Friday, but I still don't think it is bad enough to go to the emergency room yet.  Of course, that could change before tonight.

So, we will be at the office first thing in the morning if not at the hospital before, and I feel sure they will admit Aubrey.  I hate to think about them putting him back in the hospital, but I know that putting him on oxygen is the only way this will get under control.   I'm just praying we don't have to stay as long. . . . Keep your fingers crossed.

Here are some pictures of Aubrey giving himself a breathing treatment.  He has been taking them for so long now, he tries to do it himself!  Hopefully we will have a turn in the right directing instead of a visit to the ER tonight!

Mardi Gras Parade at the Boardwalk

On Fat Tuesday, I wanted to take Aubrey to the Mardi Gras parade at the Boardwalk.  We didn't get to go to either of the big parades in Shreveport because it was either too cold, or we had something else to do.  So, I wanted to take him to this parade.

We met Jeff at work, and then went down to the Boardwalk for the parade.  As soon as we got there, we found a great spot right along the street, and I was all set for a great time.

On the way there, Aubrey fell asleep in the car, and when I got him out of the carseat, he was not a happy camper.  So, needless to say, this great time I was looking forward to turned into one big fiasco.  Aubrey did not want to sit in the stroller, nor did he want either one of us to hold him.  In fact, he would have been perfectly happy running down the street away from us.

Also, the perfect spot that I thought we had chosen turned out to be at the very end of the parade, which made for another problem.  By the time we could even see a glimpse of the parade coming our way, Aubrey was DONE!  He was crying and kicking and Jeff had had just about enough.  So, we started walking to leave, but we couldn't get across the street to get back to the parking garage.  So nobody was a happy camper.

To make things even worse, we decided to go and eat at Saltgrass.  This was the first time we had ventured to a nice restaurant other than Trejos since we've known Aubrey has food allergies. . . . Needless to say, it was a D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R.  We had to get our food to go!  Jeff and I made a pact after we left there that we would not be eating out anymore unless we had a babysitter!

Valentine's Day 2010

Valentine's day has never been super big at our house. We always get each other a card, and usually go eat, but that's about it. But I do always get Aubs a valentine.
Aubrey was talking to Mee (my mom) on the phone thanking her for the Valentine package he got in the mail. He has become quite the phone talker, and always wants to talk to whoever I might be talking to! Nobody on the other end can understand his jibber though.
Here are Aubrey's and Jeff's valentine's on their breakfast plate. I bought Aubrey those golf clubs and when Jeff was opening them, he said, "These are right handed." (FYI Aubs is left-handed). I was like, "Wal-mart didn't give me a choice of right or left-handed for five dollars. So, poor Aubrey is going around trying to hit the golf balls and the clubs aren't even turned the right way! He doesn't care though!

Opening his books. . . Always have to have books for goodies!
Somehow, he found the nu-nu in the midst of opening his presents. Ughh! I don't think I will ever break him from the nu-nu!
Here are the goodies for the daycare kids. The lady who keeps Aubrey is great. I could not ask for a better baby-sitter. She has about 6 regular kids, plus her own son. But, she has five children of her own. We always get them a goody too to have when they come home from school.

Look what I made! pink, heart-shaped rice-crispy treats. I had to find something Aubrey could eat too, so I decided on these, and then I found pink marshmellows at Wal-mart to make them even better.
That was our Valentine's day. . . Tonight we're off to the children's Mardi Gras parade at the boardwalk. Should have lots of good pictures for tomorrow.

Snow Day 2010

This is what we woke up to Friday morning! This picture really doesn't do justice for all the snow we really got. I mean, the Saints won the superbowl and we got 5 inches of snow all in one week!

School had already been canceled, so I kept Aubrey at home with me. Jeff came home at lunch so we could take Aubrey out to play in the snow. We went to Branson with my parents and it snowed a bunch. So, he saw snow at 13 months old, but he really wasn't old enough to understand the concept of snow. But, this time around was a different story. His daddy had him throwing snowballs almost immediately.

Needless to say, he LOVED the snow. He and his daddy even made a snowman. I can't remember the last time I have seen that much snow!

That is one dirty snowman!
Aubs just went to sleep and Jeff is at work, so I am about to enjoy some time to myself!
